Cavity or caries are caused by acid produced by bacteria plaque. The acid softens the tooth structure from out most enamel to inner dentin layer. If untreated, the bacteria eventually invade the pulp causing toothache.
Occlusal Cavities

Cavities on the chewing surfaces are called occlusal cavities. They look brown or black in color, and soft to dental explorer.
Interproximal Cavities
Cavities on the chewing surface are usually very easy to diagnose. However, if it is between two teeth, it can be difficult. Cavities in between teeth are called interproximal cavities. Centre Dental uses the most advanced iTero 5D+ scanner with NIRI function to detect cavities without radiation. It is especially useful for kids and pregnant women.
Cavity Treatment
Cavities can be removed by dental drills, usually under local anesthesia. However it can also be treated using laser, often without the anesthesia. After removal, they can be filled with tooth colored resin
Solea Laser Cavity Treatment
The Solea® All-Tissue Laser is a comprehensive dental practice solution unlike any other. It’s a 9.3-micron CO2 laser that allows for anesthesia-free, blood-free, and pain-free procedures in hard and soft tissue. When used for cavity removal, anesthesia is often not required. It is another example that Centre Dental employs technology to enhance patient experience.

Harnessing the synergy of the 5D iTero scanner and Solea laser, Centre Dental is able to offer the most accurate radiation-free cavity detection and anesthesia-free cavity treatment. The fear of injections and drills is removed.
