Why choose a digital dental impression system？

To create a model for invisible aligners, crowns or bridges, the dentist will place a sticky impression material with a bad smell into the patient’s mouth for several minutes until the material becomes hard enough. The dentist will then check the model and make sure it does not contain any bubbles before using it. If it does, a new impression must be taken. Dental impression materials undergo certain structural changes during storage or transportation, which inevitably lead to errors in the processed product. This material can also be uncomfortable for the patient (especially those with a gag reflex), is very expensive and increases CO2 emissions.

iTero Digital Dental Models

iTero uses multi-lens laser and optical scanning to digitally capture detailed and accurate 3D structural information of teeth and gum structures. The scanner can capture up to 100,000 light spots with a spacing of 50 microns, achieving high resolution and clear three-dimensional imaging. iTero makes the image acquisition process comfortable and accurate, and the braces or porcelain crowns produced are more in line with the patient’s actual teeth.

Regarding invisible orthodontic treatment, the doctor can display your teeth arrangement before and after treatment a few minutes after the patient undergoes a dental scan. You can immediately see the results of the treatment. If you are satisfied, the data will be sent to Invisalign. In the next few days, the doctor will work closely with the factory to make a treatment plan for you. The doctor will also invite you to the clinic to review the plan and participate in the modification.
